Dr. Friedrich-Carl Wachs

Born and raised in Hamburg, I have been fascinated with Berlin since the mid-80s. After completing my law degree I came to the then still divided city for my internship at a legal practice. In 1989, I had the privilege to experience first-hand the wonder of the wall coming down and Berlin eventually becoming a unified capital city again.

I experienced the transformation process from overcoming the long years of division to a striving European metropolis on location and kept a close eye on the development of the constantly changing and adapting real estate market. Next to my work in the legal field with a strong emphasis on real estate law, I was also MD at Engel & Voelkers for the regions Berlin-Mitte and Potsdam for a number of years.

My career led me from agriculture via the steel and automotive industries into the field of real estate. living in Berlin I could not help but realize the vast attraction that this vibrant city holds for investors and potential new citizens from across the world. To develop a real understanding of this extremely fragmented market and to keep pace with the quick and constant changes is a challenge in itself, even for us who have the fortune to live in this fascinating city.

You need to be a bit of a truffle finder to identify the perfect object matching complex demands. The same applies to finding and controlling partners for renovation management – or indeed security issues. Thus, I decided to make that my passion. The philosophy I took with me from the agricultural field holds true once more: Only if the field has been well tended will the harvest be a success.
